BTW Secures Largest Transformer Export Order from China to EU, with First Unit Successfully Commissioned

Recently, the first 280 MVA/400 kV three-phase autotransformer independently developed and manufactured by Baoding Tianwei Baobian Electric Co., Ltd. (BTW) for the Greek national grid was successfully energized and put into operation at a core substation of the Greek power system. This transformer export project to Greece represents the largest single-contract transformer equipment order from China to the European Union in terms of value. BTW will supply a total of 20 autotransformers for new construction, renovation, and expansion projects within the Greek national grid, setting an example for China's equipment manufacturing industry in expanding into the European market.

During the design phase of the transformer, BTW's technical team conducted extensive analysis, verification, and technical research. Simulation-Driven Layout Optimization:
The layout of the transformer core and leads was meticulously optimized, effectively reducing stray losses and enhancing overall energy efficiency. The use of high-grade insulating materials, combined with an optimized insulation structure design, enables the transformer to reliably adapt to local climate variations and grid fluctuations in Greece. Optimized Modular Interfaces and Intelligent Monitoring Design:
Equipped with smart sensors and communication components, the device enables online monitoring of operational parameters and fault early warning, significantly reducing operation and maintenance costs.

Clamp-Type Transport Solution:
Utilizing 3D simulation for tank strength calculations allowed for precise structural optimization. Additionally, a clamp-type transport scheme was adopted, enabling reliable long-distance transportation of the oversized transformer, providing technical assurance for cross-border delivery.
